16: FilmFare Awards 2011: SRK Best Actor, Kajol Best Actress


The 56th Idea Filmfare Awards has been declared today. Shahrukh Khan is once again back at the helm as King Khan, winning the Best Actor award for his mindblowing performance in Karan Johar's "My Name Is Khan" where he essays the role of an Asperger's syndrome patient deprived of his wife's love due to religion. Kajol, who played the role of Rizwan Khan's wife in "My Name Is Khan" has won the best actress award at this year's Filmfare awards. Karan Johar won the Best director award for "My Name Is Khan". Full marks to K Jo.Salman Khan-starrer 'Dabangg' -the year's greatest blockbuster has been adjudged the best film by viewers' choice. Sonakshi Sinha has won the best sensational debut(female) award for her role in Dabangg, while the film's main crowdpuller, Sallu Bhai stayed empty-handed. Best Sensational Debut Male -prize has been awarded to Ranveer Singh for Band Bajaa Baaraat. Maneesh Sharma got Best Debut Director for Band Baaja Baraat.
Udaan got the prize for the best film, as per critics' choice. Best Actor Female (Critics) went to Vidya Balan for Ishqiya. Rishi Kapoor won the Best Actor Male (Critics) for Do Dunni Chaar.Ronit Roy won the prize for the Best Actor In a Supporting Role (Male) for performance in Udaan, while Kareena Kapoor got the Best Actor In a Supporting Role (Female) for Ajay Devgan-Kajol starrer, We Are Family. Best Story - Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane (Udaan). Best Dialogue - Habib Faisal (Band Baaja Baaraat). Best Costume - Varsha Shilpa (Do Dooni Chaar). Best Action - Vijayan Master (Dabangg). Best Cinematography - Mahendra Shetty (Udaan). Best Editing - Namrata Rao (Love,Sex aur Dhokha). Best Production Design - Mukund Gupta (Do Dooni Chaar).

Best Music award was given to Sajid-Wajid and Lalit Pandit for composing the melodious tunes of Dabangg. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan won the Filmfare Award for Best Playback Singer (Male) for Dil toh baccha hai ji. The Best Playback Singer (Female) was shared between Mamta Sharma (Munni Badnaam) and Sunidhi Chauhan (Sheila Ki Jawaani). Best Lyrics - Gulzar (Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji). Best Choreography - Farah Khan (Sheila Ki Jawani). Best Background Score - Amit Trivedi (Udaan). Best Sound Design - Kunal Sharma (Udaan) and Pritam Das (Love,Sex aur Dhokha).
So that was the complete list of award winners at this year's most coveted awards- The 56th Idea Filmfare Awards 2011. Surely the three films that dominated the awards this year are: Dabangg, Udaan and My Name Is Khan.
